A full copy of the rules is given once joining the society but here’s the basics in regards to what our group expects of our members:
SOCIETY RULES FOR JUNIOR MEMBERS
You are a junior member of the Society and should obey the following rules at all times. You should also obey any instructions or directions given to you by our stage manager
- Rehearsals – Attend as regularly as possible. If you are aware that you will not be attending a rehearsal, the show’s director must be told directly and not through other people.
- At rehearsals, all members are expected to have their full attention on their roles. This includes not checking phones, playing games, or partaking in any other distractions that could affect the flow of rehearsals.
- Performance – Change into costume and make-up as quickly and quietly as possible. After changing you should not leave the dressing room unless called to the stage. You should then wait quietly in the wings. There must be no talking or dancing in the wings. Side-screens and curtains in the wings must not be moved to give you a clearer view of the stage as you can easily be seen by the audience.
- Refreshments – All refreshments must be consumed in the dressing room.
SOCIETY RULES FOR PARENTS OR GUARDIANS OF JUNIOR MEMBERS
Your junior member is subjected to the aforementioned rules and it is necessary that you ensure they are aware of what is expected of them.
- Rules for Rehearsals – Due to limited space in our rehearsal room we would kindly ask parents to drop children off at the start of rehearsals and return to collect them at the agreed time. However, we are aware this is not always doable and if you do need to sit in a rehearsal, we ask that you do so quietly.
- Rules for Show Week– All children must be signed in and out of the facility by a parent or guardian previously made aware to the society through membership forms. If someone else will be performing this function, we ask for a signed note indicating who will be collecting or dropping off the child.
SOCIETY RULES FOR ADULT MEMBERS
You are an adult member of the Society and should obey the following rules at all times. By being an adult member, you are considered a full member of the society thereby entitling you to vote at annual general meetings.
- Rehearsals – Attend as regularly as possible. If you are aware that you will not be attending a rehearsal, the show’s director must be told directly and not through other people. At rehearsals, all members are expected to have their full attention on their roles. This includes not checking phones, playing games, or partaking in any other distractions that could affect the flow of rehearsals.
- Refreshments – All refreshments must be consumed in the dressing room.
